How the age calculator works

Your age is calculated by comparing the year, month, and day of your birth date with the current date. If the current day or month has not yet reached your birth day or month, the calculation adjusts the result accordingly.
Age calculation examples
If your birthday has passed in the current year, your completed age is the current year minus your birth year, with the remaining months and days calculated from your most recent birthday.
If your birthday is still ahead in the current year, the calculator adjusts the completed years and calculates the remaining months and days correctly.
The calculation takes different month lengths and leap years into account when determining the number of completed days.
Why exact age can be different from a simple year calculation
Subtracting one birth year from the current year does not always give your completed age. Your birthday must also be considered.
For example, someone born late in the year may still be one year younger in completed years than a simple year-to-year subtraction suggests until their birthday arrives.
